The illustrations alone are worth the price—each page feels like a little window into someone else's world, and my kids linger on them long after we've finished reading. I bought this hoping to spark conversations about empathy, and it's already done that more than any other picture book we own.

My 4-year-old asks to read this every night and now pays more attention to birds and neighbors on our walks. The pages about finding connection in everyday moments really sparked some sweet conversations between us.

The illustrations are beautiful and really capture the feeling of different perspectives, but the text felt a bit too simple for my 5-year-old. It’s a nice book, just not as engaging as I hoped for a bedtime read.
