My kids were mesmerized by the sudden storm scene–it felt so real, we had to stop and count the raindrops together. This book turned our walk through the parking lot into a treasure hunt for hidden wild places.

The illustrations of the tree bark and the storm really pulled my children in—they kept pointing out details I hadn't noticed. This book turned our usual bedtime into a little adventure, and they're already asking to read it again.

My kids have reread this book every night since it arrived, and the way it frames finding nature in an urban setting really clicked with them. The pages showing the storm and the fire are their favorites, and I love that it’s sparked them to point out wild things on our own walks.
