Fora das janelas da Amélia

My daughter uses a wheelchair herself, and seeing Amelia's shyness slowly turn into courage felt so real—the bird's gentle persistence is a lovely touch. The hardcover feels sturdy for repeated bedtime reads, and the fairy-tale woven into the story kept her asking for "one more page.

The watercolour illustrations are absolutely stunning, capturing the fairy-tale mood perfectly. My granddaughter uses a wheelchair and she lit up seeing a character like herself finding courage through stories. This book feels special, not preachy.

My daughter was so nervous about her new chair, but this book’s gentle watercolor scenes and the bird’s encouragement made her smile for the first time in days. The lyrical storytelling really brings the fairy-tale theme to life.
