A wondrously simple die-cut book from the Caldecott Honor-winning creator of the Journey trilogy — open the book to find a graphic yellow sun surrounded by bright die-cut circles, then hold the page to the light to watch the colours glow. An elegant, sparely narrated ode to light, following how it warms our faces, draws up the sea to make rain, feeds everything that grows, and helps create all the wonders of the world, including ourselves.

Aurora L. ★★★★★

The moment I held the page up to the light, those bright die-cut circles just glowed—it’s such a simple trick, but it completely changes how you see the sun. My toddler keeps grabbing it just to wave it around, and I’m honestly a little in awe of how much joy this little book packs in.

Hannah ★★★★☆

My toddler loves holding the die-cut pages up to the window to see the shapes light up, though I wish the book had a few more pages for the price. The simple, bright design is perfect for little hands.

Sebastian ★★★☆☆

The die-cut circles are clever and the sun graphic is striking, but it's more of a visual art piece than something with much of a story. My kid flipped through it once and then moved on, though the paper quality feels sturdy for little hands.
