My Body's Power Pack

My Body's Power Pack - Main image
$21.6 $30 In stock

My Body's Power Pack uses elements of neuroscience to help children understand why their energy ebbs and flows, and why this may cause dysregulation.

It provides gentle neuro-affirmative coping strategies, including the basics of energy accounting (which is like the popular 'spoons theory' for adults).

The story arc introduces the idea of Dremlins (drainer gremlins, who 'drain' a child's energy) as a metaphor for tough events. The book empowers children with language to understand their experiences, offers suggestions on what the child can do to cope, and offering advice and support for parents and carers too.

Julian ★★★★★

My kid actually started using the coping strategies on their own after reading the energy flow diagrams. It's rare to find a book that explains dysregulation so clearly without feeling clinical or scary.

Daniel A. ★★★★★

The way it breaks down the neuroscience of energy ebbs and flows really clicked for my son, and he’s already trying the gentle coping strategies when he feels overwhelmed. Finally something that explains the *why* behind the dysregulation instead of just telling him to calm down.

John ★★★★☆

I wish the neuroscience explanations were a bit simpler for my five-year-old, but the coping strategies themselves are gentle and effective—she’s actually starting to name her own energy shifts.
