The Adventures of a FIFO Kid

We got this book for our 3-year-old to help with the separation anxiety during fly-in fly-out work. The illustrations by Elke Gill are really engaging and she loves pointing out the different adventures the kids have while their parent is away.

My little one gets so upset when dad flies out, but this book actually helped turn the goodbye into something we talk about instead of just crying. The illustrations are lively and really capture the imagination of a kid whose parent works away.

The illustrations by Elke Gill are lovely and the fly-out day premise resonates with our family's routine, but at 3+ the story feels a bit long for my kid's attention span. It's a sweet concept, just not one we reach for every night.
