Ruby's worry growing visibly larger on each page really helped my kindergartener understand that feelings can grow if you keep them inside. The simple, gentle way Ruby learns to share her worry feels like a real breakthrough.

My four-year-old asks for this book every night since it arrived, and I've noticed her talking more openly about feelings. The way the worry grows physically larger on each page really helps make an abstract concept visible.

Ruby's worry is something I think a lot of kids can relate to, and my daughter really connected with the way the worry grows bigger on the page. The story handles a tough emotion gently, though I wish the resolution came with a few more concrete steps for a child to try.
