Ostheimer Coccodrillo Piccolo

The jaw snaps shut with a satisfying little click, and the hand-painted details are so charming my toddler refuses to put it down. You can tell it’s solid maple just from the weight, and it’s already survived a few enthusiastic chomps on the tail.

I was a bit worried the hinged jaw might be fragile, but it's held up to my toddler's enthusiastic chomping without any issues. The hand-painted details are beautiful, and the maple wood has a nice, smooth feel.

My kid loves snapping this little crocodile's jaw open and shut; the hinge is smooth and sturdy, and the hand-painted green scales look much nicer in person than on screen. It feels solid for a small wooden toy, and the ferocious expression is perfect for pretend play in our animal collection.
