Quick answer
Pack the Connetix Travel Mini Pack 32 pc as your go-to portable magnetic tile set. Use the steps below to plan simple, mess-free building activities that keep kids engaged on planes, in restaurants, and during any wait.
Why the Travel Mini Pack works well on the go
The Connetix Travel Mini Pack 32 pc is designed for portability: it comes in a build-ready carry tin and includes mini tiles with super strong magnets and CONNETIX Smart Spin technology, plus two sheets of reusable stickers. That means you can keep the pieces contained and let kids build on a small tray or directly in the tin lid. The mini size is a good fit for small hands and tight spaces, but it also means the tiles are smaller than standard Connetix—so this set is best for travel and not as a primary building collection at home.
When to choose this set (and when not to)
This pack shines for kids who need a compact, open-ended activity during travel or waiting times. It’s also a smart choice if you want to introduce magnetic tiles without committing to a large set. However, if your child is used to building large structures with full-size tiles, the mini pieces may feel limiting for big builds. And because the set includes small magnets, it’s not suitable for children who still mouth toys. Always check the age guidance on the packaging.
How to use the Connetix Travel Mini Pack: step by step
- Prepare the pack before you leave: Open the tin and check that all 32 pieces are inside. Let your child add the reusable stickers at home so they’re invested in the set before the trip. Common mistake: waiting until you’re on the plane to open the pack—pieces can spill during security checks. Do a quick piece count and sticker session at home.
- Set up a small building zone: On a plane or at a restaurant, use the tin lid as a building tray or place the tiles on a lap tray. Keep the tin open beside it to hold unused pieces. Common mistake: letting tiles roll onto the floor—use the tin as a contained play area. Always define a small zone to prevent lost pieces.
- Start with a simple challenge: Ask your child to build a flat shape (like a house or a star) using 5–10 tiles. The mini size makes small, achievable builds satisfying. Common mistake: suggesting a huge structure that needs more pieces than the pack contains. Keep initial builds small and flat to avoid frustration.
- Use the stickers as prompts: If your child added stickers, encourage them to incorporate those tiles into their build—e.g., a sticker on a tile becomes a window or a sign. Common mistake: forgetting the stickers entirely; they’re a simple way to refresh interest. Stickers can turn a plain tile into a story element.
- Try a travel-themed building idea: Challenge your child to build something related to the trip: an airplane, a car, a boat, or a landmark. With 32 pieces, they can make several small models. Common mistake: expecting realistic details—focus on shapes and imagination. Tie builds to the journey to keep the play relevant.
- Pack up quickly and securely: When it’s time to stop, have your child help count the pieces back into the tin. Close the lid firmly and store the tin in your bag. Common mistake: rushing and leaving pieces in seat pockets or on the floor. Make cleanup a game: ‘Can we find all 32?’
