My four-year-old shrieks with laughter every time the pigeon throws a tantrum about that puppy, and even on the tenth read, Mo Willems' deadpan humor still lands. It's the perfect paperback length for a bedtime story that they'll beg to repeat.

We’ve read it three times tonight, and my son still cracks up every time Pigeon throws a tantrum on page 12. The simple illustrations make the big emotions even funnier. Definitely a bedtime favorite now.

My kid laughed out loud at Pigeon's dramatic meltdowns, and the simple text makes it perfect for beginning readers. The only thing is the paperback cover bent a little after the first read-through.
