I was a little worried the wood might be rough, but the alderwood is actually beautifully smooth to the touch. My kids spend ages practicing their numbers as they dial, and the click of the rotary is so satisfying. It's held up perfectly to daily play.

My toddler loves spinning the rotary dial and pretending to call grandma—the smooth alderwood feels so much nicer than plastic toys. The non-toxic stain gives me peace of mind when she inevitably chews on the receiver.

The rotary dial is genuinely smooth and satisfying for little fingers to turn, and the alderwood feels lovely and solid in hand. Wish it had a real ringing sound instead of just being a silent prop, but my kids still love pretending to call grandma with it.
